I'm Shamir Dawood, a self-taught tier 1 UX/UI Designer with over 10 years of experience in the industry. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working on a diverse range of projects, from mobile apps to web platforms, and I'm passionate about creating meaningful experiences that make a difference in people's lives.

Growing up in Colombo, Sri Lanka, I’ve always had a passion for arts, freehand drawing and graphics design. This helped me to get my first job as a trainee graphic and web designer back in 2011. Working with tools such as Photoshop and Dreamweaver back in the day made me realize that I had identified a unique set of skills, and that was the turning point of my digital UX/UI design career.

While working in industries such as Healthcare, Recruitment, Logistics, Radio Broadcasting, HCM, Social and RCM, I understood the value of being a UX/UI designer, which helped me gain in-depth experience in skills such as identifying real-world problems, research and analysis, and ideating solutions to meet user goals and needs.

Nearly a decade later, I reflect on how much research, design, and collaboration I was able to do while creating experiences for various industries. Being able to continuously learn and practice design thinking while adhering to fundamental principles in UX and UI gives the opportunity to craft amazing solutions.
